We see the student behind the report card

SAT and AP, math and English, piano and art. Classes by grade, never more than six students to a teacher.

Director Dohyun Kim of Bridge Academy

About the academy

A small academy opened in 2011 by a former teacher

Director Dohyun Kim taught high school math in LAUSD for nine years. Tired of watching students become numbers in big academies, he opened Bridge Academy in 2011 with a six-student cap that still holds.

Every student starts with a diagnostic, and every parent gets a one-page report each month in Korean and English: what was learned, what remains, what helps at home.

Last year our SAT students improved an average of 210 points. The number we're prouder of: half our students have been with us more than three years.
